Self care is important for parents and educators. They are constantly taking care of the needs of others and it can be stressful, overwhelming and even depleting if they don't take the time to take care of their own needs. 5 Aspects of Self Care

Physical

Take care of your body through movement and exercise.

Be aware of your physical surroundings and clutter.

Mental

Use different avenues of learning, like books and podcasts.

Meant self care includes time to destress and have a mental break.

Work on your mindset- focus on the good.

Relaxation

Most of the time, we use social media or TV, but this may not be the relaxation we need.

Make sure that your relaxation leaves you re-charged.

Take time to rest.

Nourish

What we eat and put into our body makes a difference in how we feel and our energy level.

What we need to nourish our body may be healthy or indulgent.

Social

Build connections and relationships that will allow you to feel cared for.

Take the time to care for others through service.

Take time to take care of yourself so that you can take care of the kids you are serving daily.
